Joe believes in the preservation and continuation of the Cherokee culture, He is a traditional singer and dancer. Joe helped create the first Annual Owasso Pow-wow in 2022, and intends on working to get the Cherokee language taught in all D13 schools.
Lacey Mouse also served the Cherokee Nation in the Civil War, and gave his life in his second tour of duty, in 1864.
